As well as tools and API's such as:
I've worked on solo projects and on teams of up to 21 collaborators. My roles have ranged from tools programmer to technical director.
So far, my favorite way to make games is with a team of ~10 people, as a gameplay and UX programmer. Focusing my efforts on the details of how the player interfaces with the game is the most satisfying for me.
